Welcome

Welcome to the Parish Churches of Falkland and Freuchie

It is a pleasure to welcome you on your visit to the web site of the parish churches at Falkland (High Street, Falkland, KY15 7BU; charity no. SCO 12247) and Freuchie (High Street, Freuchie, KY15 7EX; charity no. SCO 16622).

These pages provide information about our churches as well as a spiritual resource for members and friends alike.  We hope you will visit regularly, for some content will change i the course of time.

If you live locally, you will always find a warm welcome in these churches.  They are available to you as places where you might worship whenever you feel the need and where you might explore faith.  If you are visiting and are close by on a Sunday, why not come and worship with us?  In 2009, Sunday services are held at Freuchie at 10.00 am and at Falkland at 11.30 am.  From the beginning of January 2010, these times will be reversed.

The minister of both churches is the Rev Dr George Nicol, who was inducted on the 27th October, 2006, following some eighteen years at the Parish Church of St Peter, Inverkeithing.

RECENT EVENTS

The Freuchie Scout Troop celebrates its centenary this autumn and a service was held at the Freuchie Church on Sunday 13th September to bless the troop's new flag.  Photographs of the Colour party may be found in the Photos section of this site.

The event was also significant in that it was the first time that girls in the troop had carried a flag as part of the Scout Troop Colour Party.

Successful concerts were held at both churches on the 4th December when Tuklis Russell Mills Band played a programe that included carols and Christmas music at the Falkland Church while Ensemble entertained the audience at the Freuchie Church  with ;Inving Berlin, 100 years of song.
